About

I graduated from the University of Louisville in 2019 and have tutored at the Academy here in Louisville for over a year, mostly in math and SAT prep. I love tutoring and find a way for each student to understand the material in a way that makes sense to them, instead of relying on one-way teaching often found in schools.

I am super good with working with people who need flexible hours, especially for online/phone sessions. I am also especially good with students who are behind on weeks or months of work. I can get students prepared quickly and in fewer sessions than the average tutor.

Frequently asked questions

I work with each student on individual goals and any problem areas they want to concentrate on.  Then I work with them on a realistic time frame and end goals and a schedule that works for everyone.

I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville as well as over a year of tutoring through the Academy (a private tutoring business in the Louisville area).  Tutored dozens of students in math and test preparation (from algebra to calculus and college materials).

I charge $30/hr as a base, and higher rates for more complex classes.

I started tutoring privately before I took a job at the Academy of Louisville by offering services to fellow students while I was in University.  Then, a friend referred me to the Academy for more steady clients.

Math, SAT prep, ACT prep, Algebra I and II, Calculus, Business Math, Math for Bio and Accounting, Pre-algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Linear Algebra, and some higher math courses.

Before COVID, I was a big fan of outdoor music festivals like Bunbury, Forecastle, and Bonnaroo.

Talk to the instructor about their experience teaching your specific subject area to get a feel if they would be able to explain material in a way you understand, whether in person or through online tutoring.

What are your goals for tutoring?  Is there anything out of the ordinary that would assist your learning?  Do you require extra time for assignments/exams?  Do you require in person lessons?
