Matt’s Math Tutoring
About
Being a current Purdue University student studying Analytics, I feel as if my grasp on many math subjects is extremely fresh. I believe this newer knowledge presents me with a framework to better help assist and comprehend certain students issues and questions.
My favorite part about the work I do is being able to see those around me thrive. Having been a part of several group oriented projects throughout college, I have grown accustomed to the great feelings of success in a group environment. With tutoring, those feelings come through entirely as I am able to witness and be a part of the growth and understanding of new concept matter with students that enjoy the process.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin with an introductory conversation where I am able to give a bit of a background of myself and learn more about the student. Then, the conversation progresses into better understanding the student's needs and goals for tutoring. Lastly, we get to work and begin to break everything down till we are feeling fully comfortable with our work.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My hourly rates vary between $15 and $30 per hour depending the type of math we're working and/or the period we are working together for.
How did you get started teaching?
I had often helped my friends around me on certain math related problems in the past. After a period of time, a few of them had started asking me if I'd ever considered tutoring to help others. I had never really put much thought into it, but after their comments I felt that it was worth a try. After some time, I had come to the realization that I really enjoyed what I was doing, being able to help those around me, and decided to push for greater outreach. Here I am now!
