Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first session is a "meet & greet" session! I will share a bit about myself and I would love for you to share a bit about yourself. This first session is crucial because it will allow me to get a better understanding of your needs and how best you learn. During the initial session, this is what we want to accomplish:
- Evaluate & Understand Your Needs
- Set SMART Goals
- Set Schedule & Expectations
I want to see you succeed. This will require you to put in the effort and work. I am here to coach you along the process, but the "magic formula" is already in you. We do not give up and failure is necessary to accomplish what we want in life. Keep that in focus and you will exceed your goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Greek, Roman, and Hebrew Literature and History. I also have minors in Political Science and Communication. I will be pursuing another degree in Mechanical Engineering starting Spring of 2022. I currently teach integrative Chemistry and Physics at a Charter School in Indianapolis. I also tutor middle school English Language Arts, Science, and Math.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
I began volunteering in Elementary Schools and connected to organizations in the community to mentor students. I soon realized that there was a need to bridge the gap between instruction in the classroom and at home. When I first began tutoring, I fell in love with seeing the "light bulb" go off in a student's mind when they finally understood a concept that was causing them trouble.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a variety of students. I currently work with students that have learning difficulties and are needing extra attention.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Do not give up. When you decide to give up, you decide to forfeit your goals and dreams. Failures are necessary for you to grow. They are not meant to set you back, but for you to push ahead.
