I am currently a fifth grade teacher that teaches reading, writing and math. I have four years of teaching experience. Teaching is my passion. I love helping students overcome academic obstacles and seeing them succeed.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I get to know the student I’m working with.
- interests, likes, dislikes
After I get to know the student, I start with the subject they’re strongest in to build some confidence in our relationship. Then we will love on to the harder subject to work through whatever they are struggling with. I show visuals, will model, and work with the student to find the correct answers.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught four years in a title school. I got my degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from Eastern Kentucky University.

$25 per half hour, $45 an hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in a title school four years ago and have been there since. I love the school I teach at and the students and staff I get to work with.
What types of students have you worked with?
i work with 90% low-income students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise the student to make sure the teacher they are working with understands what the student needs help with and that the teacher is positive and supportive.
