Math And Science Tutoring

About

I am strongly adept at evaluating where students are and understanding what is needed to push them to the next level. No matter what level or how far along a student is in the material, I can provide instruction that will be clear and helpful.

I truly believe that there are no "math/science" minded people, but people who had great math/science instructors. Most of the ideas of these topics should feel intuitive and should be interesting and intellectually stimulating. My favorite part about tutoring is taking a topic that seems foreign, immensely complex, and boring and refining it into familiar, simple, and engaging material that not only helps the student learn, but helps them learn to learn and want to learn.

    Frequently asked questions

I have received a BA in Computational Neuroscience with a minor in Scientific Modeling. Throughout my undergraduate years, I participated as a teacher's assistant and student tutor in a number of roles, including in computational neuroscience, biology, and chemistry courses and also as a workshop leader for topics in data science and machine learning. I have also tutored with a tutoring company and for schools in California teaching small groups of students AP Biology.

I have mainly worked with college students, but also have experiences with high school students!

The most important question is this: which areas of the material do you understand, and at what point does the material become challenging? It's also important to consider your goals and to think about what metrics of success you are hoping to improve upon so we can make plans and mini-achievements along the way!
