About

I have a university-level teaching position and 3 years of teaching experience. I have completed a Certificate in Informatics from Indiana University and will complete a Bachelor's degree in the Spring of 2022. My position involves a great deal of one-on-one interaction with students and demands the ability to effectively explain complex topics to accommodate a variety of learning styles.

The material I help to teach bring me joy and I still find it exciting to share my passion for math and computer science. I thoroughly enjoy meeting and developing relationships with students and helping them to develop learning frameworks that will benefit them as their learning careers continue.

Frequently asked questions

The first step in working with a new student is to determine their level of comfort with the material and to develop a personalized plan to help them move forward.

- Certificate in Informatics from Indiana University

Teaching has always been a long-term goal and passion of mine. When I arrived at Indiana University, I immediately began to search for teaching and tutoring opportunities. I began teaching math and computer science in early 2019 at Indiana University and have been with the department ever since.

I've worked with a variety of students, each with their own unique learning style. Some students were able to pick up material very quickly while others needed extra attention and flexibility of approach.

Recently, I was able to connect with a student who enrolled in a summer class a couple weeks after the other students. Over the span of two weeks, we were able to get them caught up to the rest of the class. This was an excellent opportunity to develop an extended relationship with a student where we developed and executed a specific learning plan. Plus they were fun to talk to.

I would recommend that students try to find a tutor who has both practical industry experience as well as tutoring experience.
