Interdisciplinary Tutoring
About
My service is unique because outside of tutoring I am being trained as a mental health provider. This means I am often thinking about the feelings and mindsets -- like motivation, confidence, and passion -- which all play a part in effective learning. I believe that with enough support and confidence, you can do things you never thought were possible. This has been true in my own life; in the last year, I started working on a documentary about prison reform -- something I took on with no experience in film whatsoever! I know the feeling of struggling in to figure out something that feels like a foreign language, and I also know how good it feels to learn through the process.
All that said, if you work with me, we will really focus in on the specific goals you have for tutoring. I will bring as much creativity to our sessions as I can, with new activities and ways of looking at the material -- and will encourage you to get creative in the process as well!
