About

As a 3L law student, I have extensive writing practice in all areas.

In highschool, I tutored other students on ACT materials. Those students increased their scores dramatically, opening the door and allowing them to be accepted to higher ranked universities. I scored a 31 on the ACT, without superscoring, and achieved a 34 in the reading section. Also, I scored a 4 on the AP English Lit exam.

Law school has further honed my writing skills. I scored no lower than an A- in my four legal writing courses at Loyola's law school.

I love to help students do their best. I know from personal experience how important it is to achieve high grades. I want to help students gets into their top choice school or get their dream job.

Claire did an excellent job in reviewing my college paper, helping me organize it, structuring it, and turned it into an A+ paper! She is fast, responsive, and thorough! She knows MLA, APA, and Bluebook. Will definitely be sending her my papers in the future again! Thank you, Claire!

Frequently asked questions

As COVID has changed the tutoring game, and home visits are no longer safe, my process for working with students will be fully online. Email exchange, phone calls, and video chats are all acceptable ways in which communication between the student and I take place. It is up to the individual student and I to figure out the program that fits them best.

The students I tutor may use me as a creative resource in all stages of the writing process. Examples of this include situations where a student needs assistance beginning the paper itself, or helping the student "figure out" the prompt. I can help students through tips with structure, transitions, phrasing, grammar, etc. I can help students through multiple drafts of essays. Additionally, if the student only needs a little help, I am available to review and edit the final product.

The amount of work needed depends on the amount of help a student needs and the intensity of the project.

I am a 3L law student at a wonderful university in Chicago, Illinois. During my time in Chicago, I have clerked for a Cook County judge, interned for the Illinois Attorney General's Office, and am working at a mid-size family law firm in the City. All of these positions required countless hours of writing, editing, and revising of legal and research documents.

My advice is: find a tutor who currently works in the field you are interested in. They will be able to provide specialized insight and useful tips for your future. Also, find someone who enjoys helping you figure out your own "writing voice".

Think about the last few assignments the student struggled with - it can be any subject matter, even unrelated to the current tutor session. This can help the tutor figure out where the tutor can most help, whether it is giving the student more confidence in their writing ability, teaching tips for catching grammar mistakes, helping the student creativley with admissions essays, among others.
