Retired Software Exec

I hold a B.S. in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the #1 IE program in the world, the University of Michigan. Of course, that entails ridiculously advanced math, but along the way I discovered that I actually love to write! I believe that confidence in academics is critical. The arithmetic is rarely the challenge, but knowing that you’re applying the right approach to a problem is everything!

I am, first of all, a coach, and can confidently help students with writing, math and science. I am a former college athlete, coached youth sports for years and, as an Eagle Scout Advisor helped many young men get across the line! I am good at holding young people accountable when they've tuned out their parents:) I have taught larger teams, but really enjoy digging in one-on-one and unlocking how each individual approaches a concept.

I enjoyed a 40 year career leading sales teams for software firms. I successfully taught my people how to communicate effectively, especially with technical concepts, public speaking and persuasive writing. I’ve had my fill of global travel and 60 hour weeks, and I am thrilled to apply my communication skills to helping young people achieve their academic goals.
