Aloha, I have been a middle/high school math and science teacher at a Classical Christian School for the past 15 years in Hawaii. I am currently teaching Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Algebra, and Chemistry. I have a knack for using encouragement, humor, relatable, applicable and multiple methods to teach subjects including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry and AP Statistics as well as Chemistry, Biology, and Anatomy and Physiology. I have tutored math students during the summer in person and taught my full load of classes online during the covid years, so I have experience with both. I have worked with driven, advanced placement, students with multiple learning differences, and unmotivated students and all levels and styles in between. I love the subjects I teach so I have a great passion when teaching. It brings me pleasure to see the light bulb turn on for my students, or to see someone that thought they were "bad at math" gain understanding, confidence and become passionate about the subject. Because I have taught multiple levels of math and science, I know what is expected and what skills will be needed for the next level. In this way I teach for fundamental mastery to maximize success in subsequent levels of each subject.
