We are three recent high school graduates headed for university; for us, we really enjoy passing on our knowledge and experience to similarly motivated students who are younger than us. We all have firsthand experience taking the subjects we are tutoring, and we like to help our students understand the intricacies and nuances of each topic. We love to learn more about our customers and pull from our vast experiences to fit their particular needs. We are especially proficient in tutoring SAT/ACT, computer science/STEM subjects, and humanities subjects.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before we begin the sessions, we start by developing a student profile – getting to personally know our clients and their comfortability in the subjects being tutored. After researching their schools curriculum and providing a few diagnostic materials, we will provide a free 30-minute trial session where parents are welcome to sit in. If all goes well, we will begin with full-time sessions as soon as possible!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All members of our team are attending top universities – Columbia and Stanford! We attended one of the most rigorous high schools in the Southeast - The Westminster Schools - and all graduated in the top 10% of our class. With regards to standardized testing, we all scored in the 99th percentile on the ACT or SAT. We all also have scored 5s (the highest possible score) on all of our AP exams - especially in popular subjects like AP Biology, Calculus, Computer Science, and English Language/Literature.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Sessions start at $40 an hour – but may vary depending on the subject/difficulty of coursework. We also provide an extra $5 weekly service for personalized worksheet creation – tailoring it to your child’s specific coursework.
How did you get started teaching?
For our team at Ivy Success Academy, we all started teaching through volunteer/peer-tutoring organizations in Atlanta like Agape and Odyssey. And although we all have experience as independent tutors, we wanted to join forces this summer and expand our reach into the community to connect with students like you!
What types of students have you worked with?
At ISA, we’ve worked with all types of students across all ages. From 1st-grade reading to SAT/ACT Prep to 8th-grade Spanish, our tutors are ready to teach any subject to your passionate students!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We are all extremely fond of our graduation from high school in May 2021! In addition to celebrating our academic performance in high school, the event marked our transition into Columbia and Stanford students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that the teacher has had firsthand and recent experience with studying the subject. Look for teachers that can easily adapt to your needs, and who will take the time to help you through difficult concepts. A good teacher will help you get your grade - a great teacher will help you understand the concept better than anyone else!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are difficult concepts for me to grasp? What concepts do I understand and enjoy? What type of learner am I? What are my strengths and weaknesses? What type of environment do I learn best in?
