Hello! I'm Brenda, an experienced educator with more than 18 years of helping students become confident readers, writers, and thinkers. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a Master's degree in Adult and Higher Education Administration, and I'm certified in ESOL.

I specialize in structured literacy using evidence-based phonics and Orton-Gillingham-informed instruction, along with reading comprehension, writing, critical thinking, elementary math, and Algebra I for students in grades K–12. Whether a student needs intervention, enrichment, homework support, or help preparing for assessments, I create personalized lessons that meet their unique learning needs.

My teaching philosophy is simple: I don't just teach students what to learn—I teach them how to think. Through engaging, interactive lessons, students learn to analyze, solve problems, communicate effectively, and become independent learners. I focus on building confidence as much as academic skills because lasting success begins with believing, "I can do this."

Parents appreciate my patient, encouraging approach, and students enjoy lessons that are engaging, supportive, and designed to help them succeed. My goal is to help every learner develop the skills, confidence, and love of learning that will serve them both in school and beyond.
