I served as a 7th Grade Math/ 8th Grade Pre-Algebra Teacher at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic School in Sandy Springs, as well as an instructor for Current Events for the 2016-2017 school year and currently work as the Technology Teacher at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School in Brookhaven. I did my student teaching in Social Studies-World History at Alexander Graham Middle School in Charlotte, North Carolina in the Fall of 2015.
The first introductory session is free, and all sessions after that are $25 an hour, and I am available all afternoons, as well as the weekend, and can meet as little or as much during the week as deemed necessary by student/parent/guardian.
The interactions with the students on a daily basis, as well as the "aha" moments and expressions that come across a student's face when they have been struggling with a concept and it finally "clicks" for them.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I work to build an undertstanding of the student's prior knowledge through a "Pre-Test" of the information that will be covered throughout the future lessons. With the collection of data, and through analysis of that data, I can observe the areas that need the most improvement, and through a brief discussion with the student/parents I can gain an understanding of what type of instruction works best for the student, and differentiate my sessions accordingly.

What types of students have you worked with?
All socioeconomic backgrounds. The students I work with currently are definitely upper-middle class, but my experience in student teaching had me working at a Title I School in Charlotte. I work with the on-level (as opposed to advanced or honors classes) class, so I have experience working with students who tend to struggle with the material, both initially and throughout the unit. I am also used to bi-weekly tutorial sessions, and have a plethora of material/knowledge to provide to any student I work with.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I would honestly just say, having a student come into class the day of a new lesson and saying they do not understand the material at all at the end of that first lesson, then working continuously with that child throughout the lesson, encouraging them to come in after school for some extra help, seeing the work they put in, and ultimately seeing the smile on their face when I hand the test back and they scored an "A". Along with that, I am also fond on whenever a student thanks me after class for my instruction, that always brings a smile to my face.
