Hi! My name is Mindee Hill and I LOVE to teach math and work with students! I have many cool tricks to teach you how to remember to solve math problems. When I was young I had a terrible time with math! I think that’s why I am such a good math teacher now- I remember how it just didn’t click! I have many methods for making math fun and easy!

I have taught for many years and have a terrific success rate! I’m a Masters Degree Teacher with over 30 years of experience. I would LOVE to help you be the best mathematician you can be!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The first session with my new students is a getting to know you session. I have developed an informal assessment for each specific grade level. The student takes the assessment then we set goals based on his/her needs. I will speak with the parents to discuss their child’s strengths and weaknesses. Then we formulate a plan and off we go!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I earned a BA from Mercer University in Education and a Masters of Education from Georgia State College and University. I have many post graduate classes in technology and am certified as a Gifted and Talented teacher as well.

Pricing is determined by need and subject. I am open to discussing feed based on student need and financial need.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching as a camp counselor when I was 15 years old. I knew then that teaching would be my life’s work I never looked back. I have had a rewarding career!

What types of students have you worked with?

All kinds! I taught elementary for 31 years in Kindergarten through 5 th grade. I have taught all subject areas. Now that I am retired, I teach all subjects from grade 1 through college algebra! I especially love teaching math ( I am teaching a lot of middle school math, algebra, and geometry very successfully) but I also teach a lot of reading comprehension and writing/ English skills. If its out there, I can teach it!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Be comfortable 😊with the person who is helping you. If you can communicate together learning will be easier and much more fun!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Look for a teacher you can connect with both educationally and personally. The teacher should be both knowledgeable and caring. If the teacher can make learning fun and you want to go back for more, you’ve found the right person!
