What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I usually meet with the student and talk with them to see if they feel like I am a good fit with them. If we continue, then I will give them a short pre-test to determine where they are and where they may have some gaps. I will then look at the curriculum of the course they will be in it are currently in. Then I design a path to help them be successful.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have taught high school math in two states and seven different t schools. I've taught all levels from basic math to advanced Calculus. I have tutored students for the past 15 years with great success.

$75 per hour. Discount if we meet Multiple times per week.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching after College. I was a career educator.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with all levels of students in grades 8-12. Students who struggle in math and those who excel and need to be challenged.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I would say to choose someone who you feel comfortable with and you like the way they approach teaching math.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Have you taught the course that I am taking? Are you comfortable with me asking questions?
