Hi, I’m Mrs. Kuts - Teacher & Former Engineer!

I teach Math, English Language Arts, Social Studies and Science, and I bring 20 years of engineering experience into everything I do. That means we solve real problems, ask “why,” and celebrate when hard things click. I believe every child is a natural problem-solver. My job is to give them the tools and confidence to prove it to themselves. I also LETRS trained in the Science of Reading, so I don't guess what struggling readers need - I know,

What tutoring with me looks like:

- Math: We break down word problems like engineers — step by step, real world connections, using logic + visuals so it actually makes sense.

- ELA: LETRS - based structured literacy + high-interest texts, data-driven small groups, and strategies that build real comprehension, not just test skills.

- Science/Social Studies: As a curriculum developer, I turn standards into hands-on investigations. We don’t just read about ecosystems or government - we model them, debate them, and relate them to the real world.

- All subjects: Weekly goals so kids see their growth and stay motivated.

The best part of being a teacher? Watching a student’s face when they realize, “Wait… I can do this.” After 20 years building things as an engineer, I can tell you: there’s nothing better than helping kids build confidence, curiosity, and skills they’ll use forever.
