About
Hello! I am a High School English teacher with a Bachelor's Degree in Rhetoric and Persuasion and a Master's in Secondary English Education.
believe that no two students are the same, meaning that two students cannot be taught the exact same way with equal results. I believe in finding students' interests and trying my best to use those for instruction. Students need to have an individualized learning plan that builds on itself for them to be successful. Finally, I want students to be able to be excited about this subject, become avid readers, and develop critical thinking skills.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Finding out what they are interested in and using that to determine the material to use. Then I find out what they are having trouble with or want more help in. After that, I start with the basics to determine where a problem might begin and strengthen those before moving on to more complex areas.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor's Degree in Rhetoric
Master's in Secondary Education in English
2 years as a High School Teacher

How did you get started teaching?
I worked with inner city students in 2016 and saw how they were struggling in their ELA classes because of their lack of connection with the material that was being taught. I also saw a lot of friends and family getting caught up in speeches people made or things on the news without fact checking and that is something that I see as necessary for every working adult.
What types of students have you worked with?
As a high school teacher, I've worked with students from many different backgrounds whether that means different ethnicities, religious beliefs, economic status, students from rural and urban areas, or something else. I have been with a wide variety.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone that is going to treat you as an individual instead of just another student. Also, you should like your teacher, you've probably learned the most from the teachers that you've liked the most.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What am I really struggling with?
