About
I'm a Microbiology PhD student at the University of Georgia graduating in May 2024. I've taught five university courses, ranging from introductory biology to upper-level biochemistry.
In addition to classroom teaching, I've been a one-on-one tutor for 15 years. I'm just beginning to tutor through Wyzant. My previous students have included:
-A third grader who I was able to help catch up and keep up to his class in reading and math.
-A high school student who wanted help on her SAT prep and, later, college application essays.
-Junior high schoolers (group tutoring) who needed help mastering their algebra and geometry courses.
-College students who wanted extra help in in biology, microbiology, biochemistry, and math.
I've helped students crack standardized tests with practice, critical thinking, and reviews. I've had to take plenty of standardized tests and was able to reap the rewards of strategic study:
-PSAT, score of 221, receiving a full-ride National Merit Scholarship
-SAT, score of 1600 (2310 including writing)
-GRE, score of 93rd/94th/95th percentile on writing/reading/math sections respectively.
-AP Exams in English Language (score 5), English Literature (score 5), Calculus BC (score 5), Environmental Science (score 5), US History (score 4), World History (score 5), Macroeconomics (score 5), and US Government (score 5).
I've helped students succeed on each of these exams, and I would love to do the same for students here.
