About
“A” Success Academics, Inc. recognizes and respects the uniqueness of each student. Our primary mission is to foster a love for learning in each student. Our approach skillfully weaves artistic and practical disciplines into everyday academics. Students learn to follow their curiosity, to think creatively, and to work both independently and cooperatively with others. We celebrate diversity and strive to instill integrity, compassion and confidence in each student. We give each student support and encouragement to become his or her own unique self.
I/we enjoy empowering, impacting and making a positive difference in "our" youth!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Our typical process starts with a phone conversation to discuss specific needs (ie subject to be tutored, desired day(s)/time(s) that are most convenient for client etc.) Pricing will be discussed during this time as well.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was hired to tutor math (statistics) at UCLA as an undergraduate to fellow undergraduates that were struggling. Upon graduation I began teaching with a public school district in the Los Angeles area. While working in the public school system in Los Angeles, I volunteered with local non profit organizations to provide academic support in the area(s) of math. I later relocated to Atlanta and began working as an educator in the public school system and eventually decided to start my own academic support / mentoring program.
How did you get started teaching?
The inspiration behind "A" Success Academics, Inc. came from two sources, GOD and "OUR" children. I have always had an affinity for young people and helping to shape lives. After working as an educator for many years, I watched over and over, kids fail not because they lacked knowledge, but they lacked "chemistry".
Chemistry in any relationship is fundamental, without it theres no connection. In order for the learning process to happen, there has to be a connection. God has always been a part of my life. I was led spiritually to take a leap of faith and start my own way of presenting academia to students, a way that would reach the highest of achievers to the lowest, but still make it enjoyable and build long lasting comprehension. Through "A"Success Academics, I have accomplished this goal.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with ALL types of students including K-12, College and Adults. I/we truly embrace diversity and have worked with students that were below grade level, on grade level, advanced students as well as students with learning disabilities
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise potential clients looking to hire a tutor to ask the following questions:
1. How long have you been tutoring?
2. What are your qualifications, certifications or credentials?
3. Can you tell me a little bit about your teaching philosophy?
4. What can I do to support the tutoring process?
5. How will you communicate with me, and how often?
6. Do you have references I can speak to?
7. What's your availability?
8. Where will the tutoring sessions take place?
9. How long is each tutoring session?
10. How much do you charge per session?
11. Are there other fees (for materials or assessments, for example)?
12. What's your policy for cancellations and make-up sessions?
