Teaching Experience and Training of Nursing Students and Intern Doctors

During my 28 years of service as a Government Medical Officer in India, I actively participated in the education, supervision, and clinical training of nursing students, intern doctors, and other healthcare professionals.

My teaching responsibilities included providing classroom lectures, bedside clinical teaching, and hands-on practical demonstrations in primary health centers (PHCs), community health centers (CHCs), and government hospitals. I trained nursing students and intern doctors in patient assessment, history taking, physical examination, clinical documentation, infection prevention and control, emergency patient management, medication administration, wound care, intravenous therapy, and vital sign monitoring.

As an Obstetrics and Gynecology Medical Officer, I provided practical training in antenatal care, normal vaginal delivery, labor room management, postpartum care, newborn resuscitation, family planning procedures, sterilization techniques, and the management of obstetric emergencies. I also supervised interns during cesarean sections, minor surgical procedures, maternal and neonatal care, and emergency patient stabilization.

I served as a trainer for Skilled Birth Attendant (SBA) programs for approximately 12 years, educating nurses and healthcare staff on safe delivery practices, maternal and newborn care, and the early recognition and management of obstetric complications.

In addition, I conducted training programs on tuberculosis control under the National TB Elimination Program, routine immunization, Universal Immunization Program (UIP), pulse polio campaigns, communicable disease surveillance, disaster preparedness, infection control, and public health initiatives.

Throughout my career, I mentored healthcare professionals by emphasizing evidence-based practice, patient safety, ethical medical care, teamwork, effective communication, and quality improvement. My goal has always been to help nursing students and intern doctors develop the clinical knowledge, practical skills, and professional confidence necessary to provide high-quality patient care.
