My priority is to make sure that students understand the topics from their roots and make it a permanent learning process. I enjoy it when my students tell me how they become comfortable with doing math and even get rid of the fear of it!
During the online tutoring sessions, I first prefer to go through the basics of a topic concisely to make sure the "learning pyramid" is not missing critical stones from its foundation. Then I solve high-quality problems chosen from various sources with constant communication with my students. It is also important to see geometric/practical solutions, especially for topics like trigonometry. However, I may adjust my teaching technique according to the student if s/he has a specific learning method or textbooks, etc.
