Math And Science Tutor
About
Hi! I’m a junior in college and I study developmental biology! I have been tutoring since I was in high school with middle school and high school science and math, as well as pre-K through 8th grade general education. I aim to make sure the student is understanding the material completely. In other words, my goal is to help you make sense of it all!
My personal favorite part of tutoring is working one on one with students to make sure they have the chance to build a full understanding of things they are learning. I love that every student is different which allows me to learn new ways of teaching!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically start with an indroductory session which consists mostly of getting to know the student and having them tell me what they are struggling with. After that we can start working right away on anything the student wants to work on. Sometimes this is homework, or going over material that is confusing, but I also try to make sure that each session is personalized by asking about their day and their interests!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked for 1 1/2 years as a tutor at Girls Inc of Sarasota working with girls ages 5-13 on many subjects! Before that I worked with pre-K, 4th grade, and 8th grade classrooms developing science curriculums for these different age groups.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
If able, $20/hr is usual, however this can be negotiated if necessary. What this covers is both the time spent in the session, and any prior research or preparation.
How did you get started teaching?
Ever since I was little I had a knack for teaching. This showed up in elementary school when I always tried to help my friends with homework, and then onto highschool when I started assisting in middle school classrooms and creating my own curriculum! Now in college I still love teaching as much as I used to!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with kids of many different backgrounds and with a variety of personal needs when it comes to education. Mostly ages 7-14.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What Specifically confuses you about a certain subject?
A lot of the time this can simply be that it doesn't make sense, but if there is a specific concept that isn't clicking, that information can be very helpful to a tutor when they are trying to help!
