About
Learning to read is the window to the rest of your life is my motto. For without learning to read life becomes really difficult to navigate. I enjoy teaching children to read for it is rewarding when they make their first letter sound to writing full sentances and reading full paragraphs.
Working with children is a rewarding experience and is my calling in life. The calling to help children to become the best they can be. I began my experience as a reading counselor for an afterschool program and after several years I had the honor of becoming the Director of the Program which I ran for several years. I was able to see their growth from start to their advancements to the next grades. The children that I had taught how to read are now high school graduates and beyond.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Firstly, I would introduce myself to the child and give an assessment to ascertain their reading level. Then I would chose the appropriate curriculum to begin their journey into reading!!!
