Derek is an experienced Math educator and former high school principal and assistant principal. He is licensed to teach mathematics by the State of NY for students in grades 5–12. Derek's structure for learning is dedicated to fostering academic growth, social-emotional well-being, and student success through individualized support, all the while maintaining high expectations. He is trained through the ASD Nest Program, with specialized expertise in fostering learning with students with IEPs and those on the autism spectrum and creating supportive learning environments for them. Skilled at working with learners of all abilities, backgrounds, and learning styles, his favorite type of young people to work with are the ones that say "I'm not good at Math." He'll change their perception.
