Lirosi Math And English Tutoring
About
Hello! I'm Sara a college student at Florida State University. My current major is Statistics with a Mathematics minor. I am passionate about helping people understand math and english. Today, there is a gap between working through a math problem or writing an essay, and working with me will help you better understand the concepts as a whole.
I am passionate about math because it can provide us so many answers about the world. Through calculus we can observe change in abstract spaces, statistics verify's information we collect, and probability is the closest we can get to predicting the future. In short, math is engaging because its interesting and I love helping people see it the way I do.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I want to see where the student is currently at. What is he or she struggling with, what are they confident with? Then we will work from the ground up and build a foundation that will allow them to work through their problems, and allow them to apply these concepts to other problems.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken classes in Calculus (I, II, and, III), Statistics, Probability, English I and II, Physics I and II, and many more. I was successful in all these classes and have a passion for teaching.
I have also attended a service academy (US Merchant Marine Academy) and Florida State University.

How did you get started teaching?
I have a passion for math and helping others. Tutoring encompasses both of these traits. Additionally, I once struggled in math and understand how it feels. I want to help!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked primarily with high school and college students.
Although I have tutored elementary school students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who communicates well, has a passion for the subject, and is patient.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would encourage them to find what they struggle most with. Both the tutor and student need to work together for the best results. You need to be honest about your weaknesses, it's the only way you'll get better!
