About
Ruba's Tutoring Table started 3 years ago, in 2015. I had graduated High School as Summa Cum Laude with a GPA of 5.60. A family member came to me, begging for my help because they received news that if their daughter did not bring up her grades, she was bound for a repeat. I started to tutor the young girl and sure enough, her grades went up and she moved onto the next grade level. I was so proud of her and also of myself because I realized a passion of mine was found just by helping her out and seeing how happy she was because she gained self confidence in her class subjects and that she could move forward with her friends. That's when I decided to make tutoring young children an actual important part of my life.
I understant the struggles that young children go through everyday just to understand a subject and feel as if they are part of their class. I myself used to hate math as a subject, until I had a teacher who showed me that in reality, I loved math! I just needed to be shown different ways around solving problems and actually using visualtization to help with that. After that, who knew that my love for math would grow into me majoring in Business Administration while in college and recently receiving a dgeree for it! I couuldn't have been more proud of myself.
I want to show my students that they can gain a love for a sbject that they don't seem to like, if they just keep trying. If I could do it, they can too! So please, let's get started!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Usually, I will start asking my students what is it that thy struggle with in the subject they are having are having a hard time with. I let them know that they are no different than the next student I tutor and that I was the same way. Next, I like to set up a plan that helps them step-by-step to finding solutions quicker and easier to problems they are facing. I like to also include visuals, like drawing of objects, to help with the process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received an AA Degree in Business Administration. Now, I am gaining a Bachelor's in Supervision and Management.

I advice students who are looking to hire a teacher is to make sure you are getting your moneys worth of tutoring. If you see that you are not progressing in a subject you asking a tutor for help with, consider switching tutors.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Always ask yourself: Am I studying hard enough? Have I done research and looked up solutions that can possibly help me solve questions easier in a way that I understand? Have I reached out to my teacher for clarification?
