I am professionally certified to teach grades K-6, and have previously tutored grades ranging from 3-11.
How did you get started teaching?
Teaching is a profession that truly chose me.
I was in my last year of my bachelors degree from the University of Florida, for Food and Resource Economics which was obviously not on the education tract, and my mom was diagnosed with cancer. After graduation, I moved home to be with her and stand by her during treatments. After a few months of doing so, she pushed me to find something for myself and more specifically a job. One thing lead to another and I decided a week before the school year was scheduled to start that I was going to take a leap and go out for a few interviews. I landed at a wonderful school and never looked back! What started as a leap ended up as a home I never knew I had. It has been one of the most natural experiences that I look forward to continuing here.
