Figuring out their level. Working with them in their textbook or through their resources, and learning how to best use those resources.

15-20$/hr depending on how in depth the lesson should be to do a proper job

I recently starting teaching the basics of biology to a 9th grader; this was very fulfilling as I believe strongly in biology as a medical student
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Only that they should be acquiring knowledge.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Where they need help, exactly where and why. Why is a major component for future learning.
