Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Building rapport is the crucial first step of working with any new student. Significant learning cannot occur without a significant relationship, with trust and mutual respect being the foundation of any student-teacher dynamic. I then spend time learning both the student's strengths and areas of need so that we can work together to create a plan of action.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in English and am in the process of earning my Masters of Teaching in English Language Arts with ESOL. Additionally, I hold a professional teaching certificate through the FLDOE.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Hourly pricing: $20 per hour
How did you get started teaching?
Inspired by a handful of significant English teachers from my own years as a student, I began classroom teaching right out of college and quickly fell in love with the profession. Now, it is my hope to bring my expertise to students across the country through a convenient digital platform.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ranging from 6th through 12th grade including ESOL and ESE populations.
