About this tutor

I am a Trinity Washington University student who wants to help those who struggle with math, whether it's as simple as geometry or as advanced as Calculus. Whenever my friends and classmates have needed help with math, I have been the go-to person to help them, and they have always walked away with a better understanding of the material. I got A's in college-level mathematics since high school, and I had completed Algebra 1 and 2 in middle school before that. Currently, I am pursuing my degree in Forensic Science.

I also have an extensive background in science, and I have about 3 years of lab experience through my high school's biotechnology program. I have made good grades in AP and college sciences, and I am willing to help students with basic to advanced biological sciences. I can also help with basic earth science.

Music has also been a passion of mine, and I had done honors choirs, state choirs, chamber choirs, and professional choir as a first Soprano. Currently, I am in DC's Congressional Chorus. I can help choir students with reading and notating choral pieces and I can help them prepare for school-related auditions, concerts, and choir festivals. I am not an accompanist, nor am I a music instructor, but I am experienced enough in all school levels of choir to help middle and high school students with chorus. I can work with other sopranos and altos.

This has been my first year as a professional tutor, but I definitely have the academic experience to qualify as a tutor for K-12 students in STEM and choral music. I am a college student, so I can help students achieve their goals as they progress through school, and I can also give them tips on how to succeed in school. Please feel free to email me at [email protected] for additional inquiries.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I will set up an appointment, but I can also do last-minute or on-call sessions. I will keep a record of each student. I will meet the student at Trinity Washington University's library, but if transportation is not available, I will meet them at a location nearby. My services are not available during the summer.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge $10 per hour per session (if the session is less than 1 hour, the cost will be $10). If I have to travel, there is a fee of $2. I can be paid by cash, check, or electronically by Cash-app, Zelle, or Google Pay. I cannot process card payments. Payment is due immediately after sessions, but in some cases, the student can pay up to one week afterwards.
