Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student it is very important to work in person at least in the beginning in order to build trust and working relationships. I am interested in what goes on in the student's life both in and out of the academic environment. Tutoring is about meeting the needs of the whole student academically, mentally, and emotionally. We all learn differently and defining how a student learns is a very important part of the success process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 25 years of experience teaching K-12 science in both formal and informal settings. Presently I am tutoring students in grades 5-12 in multiple subject areas both remotely and in person.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The advice I would give a student looking for academic support would be to find someone you also connect on a personal level;)
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How do you learn best?
Are you a visual learner? Auditory learner? Kinesthetic learner...that's me! I love to learn through hands-on experiences!!
