My typical process sitting the first meeting is to understand where the student is at. Depending on the age I will give my own little assessment to gauge where we need to start.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Fine someone that makes it fun! Math doesn't have to be boring! It will be hard but if you can have fun doing it the lesson will stick!
