About

I work with students all over the world and we have fun. I love working with kids and getting to know then so that we can have sessions enjoyable and useful. My goal is to get kids up to speed quickly so they can move on.

I enjoy 2 things: making math fun and helping you.

As one student said after get first session, "that wasn't painful at all!" She had bad experiences with math and tutoring in the past and was very unsure about another tutor. We now with several times a week and she logd on early to sessions to get started.

Christy Q.

You know whos a better tutor than Erin? No one! She is compassionate, easy to work with and has helped me through so many issues with my sons school, I cant even name them all. She will make phone calls, send emails and coach you through anything you need. She has brought my son to a new level of math that not even his teachers thought he could achieve. Worth every penny and more.

Frequently asked questions

1) intake. See what your needs are and if I can meet them

2) first session starts with an informal inventory of where we are at and getting to know each other. I typically do that through curriculum so that I can give you an immediate report about what I see going on with math.

3) set up weekly, 2x or 3x weekly sessions depending on needs, adjusting as necessary.

I was a math major in college, education major in grad school. I've taught in public school, to homeschool students and in private practice. I've developed educational software and programs for math.

The main thing I bring is compassion for the challenges that different students have with math and the way it effects their self-esteem. My students may come to me feeling bad about math or even intimidated by it, but they leave sessions excited, proud of themselves and accomplished.

Pricing is $25 for 30 minutes, $35 for 45 minutes and a discounted rate purchasing packages of 10 sessions.

I started out as a computer science major. One day at a shuttle stop on the way to classes, I took a flier looking for classroom volunteers. After I started volunteering, I changed my major to math education. I've been working with students ever since.

From severely challenged to gifted. From kids told by schools they would never learn it graduate to those applying to top universities.

From small children with behavior or emotional disabilities to very sensitive kids with perfectionist tendencies.

I sort of joke that I am "special forces" because people doned usually call me in unless there's a need for strong intervention.

Families work with me for years and years when they can. Or, we with short term to meet a deadline. I'm is of your village for as long as you need me.

Make sure you click with the tutor and they never make you feel like you should know something. You can't know something if you were never taught the way your brain learns. Don't ever feel like you need to impress a tutor. They should be working hard to make sure you understand, not testing to see what you know.

Does this person make me excited to learn? Will I look forward to seeing this person regularly or are they annoying? Do they charge too little, why? Do I feel comfortable asking questions?
