I have a master's degree in education & work full-time as a high school math teacher in JeffCo. I have been teaching for over 8 years and have tutored students in elementary, middle, and high school. Most of my teaching experience has been at alternative high schools, so I know that one size doesn't fit all and I have experience working with a diverse group of students with a wide range of skill levels.
I know Math can be especially intimidating for students who have struggled with Math before and I enjoy working with students to develop positive attitudes and mindfulness techniques to help when anxiety arises during tests. My goal when working with students is that they leave with both the knowledge and attitude needed to succeed in Math and stay calm and confident during tests.
I never take on more than 3 clients at a time so that I can focus on the success of each student. When tutoring K-12 students, I prefer to regularly communicate with your child's teacher so that I am updated on how they're making progress in class, when tests are, and what their learning objectives for each lesson are.
