About this tutor

Last year, I had the unique opportunity of helping a 29 year old learn to read. It's not that he was incapable of reading it's that nobody ever took the time, or had the patience to help him. Everyone thought it was a lost cause because of his learning disability but we as humans have an amazing capacity for growth. Sometimes, all we need is the right person to believe in us.

I want to be the person for you. I've helped students from all backgrounds achieve their goals, whether it was passing college courses, covering 4 years of math in three months to pass an engineering entrance exam, skipping grades, or learning a new skill. We all have the capability to grow beyond what is expected from us. I'd love to help be a catalyst for your growing process.

A Little More About Me

I've been tutoring since I was in High School and I actually had the opportunity to get two years of college for free through the A+ Tutoring Program. Instead, I attended the Missouri University of Science & Technology to study Nuclear Engineering where I was on the executive board of their Chess Club, and I was elected as Philanthropy and Community Service Chairman, 1st and 2nd Vice President, and eventually President of an engineering fraternity called Triangle Fraternity. I've operated a nuclear reactor and lived to tell about it. I enjoy traveling, reading, experiencing new and exciting foods, performing magic, playing piano, and meeting new people. I'm currently in the top 5% of the world on Chess.com out of 600-800 million players. I've been taking masterclasses from some of the greatest writers, performers, and businessmen in their respective fields. I'm currently working on my TEFL certification and plan to eventually move overseas to teach English full time.

None of this came easy. To get to this point took not only hard work and will power, but disciplined focus on the goals I wanted to achieve. I say this because I'm certain that you can do Anything you want to do in life as long as you give it your all. I can help you get there and so much more as long as you're willing to go the distance.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Before we even schedule a lesson, I need the syllabus for the course sent to me. Each class is unique in structure and as a result, successful strategies vary greatly. I look for the best ways to ensure our actions set you up for success. Our first session typically involves a small meet and greet followed by a test to determine your learning style or styles. Then there's a small quiz I've prepared to see where your current skills are strongest and where you could use improvement. We'll discuss your goals and what steps we'll be taking to get you there.
