Peak Tutoring

My passion is helping students gain skills and confidence through one-on-one, customized tutoring. I tutor in-person in Colorado Springs and with students located anywhere, online.

I enjoy working with kids of all ages and can tutor them in math, English (spelling, writing, reading, grammar), science, history, study skills (like note-taking and test preparation), and organizing skills, and SAT prep.

I am a licensed teacher with a bachelor's degree in biology and an MAT in secondary science education. I taught in a middle school for 10 years and really enjoy that age group. When our first child was born, I became a private tutor in order to have a more flexible schedule and quickly discovered much I loved it.

My rates are $70 per 45-minute session for regular tutoring and $200 for 90-minute SAT prep sessions. If a parent wants a 30, 60, or 90 minute session instead, the price is adjusted accordingly.

I love working one-on-one with students! It's great to build a relationship with them and their families and tailor-make lessons to be just exactly what they need. Maybe a student needs things explained differently than the teacher explained them in class in order to make sense to their brain. Maybe class moved too fast and they just need more practice with a concept. Or maybe a child needs to learn in a more hands-on, loud, or active way. I customize our sessions so the student can finally learn those tricky concepts.

The reason I named my business Peak Tutoring was not only because I live at the base of Pikes Peak, but I love to help students reach their peak in academic success and confidence!
