Frequently asked questions

I like to find out what there goals are and the jump right in!

I grew up in a family of mathematicians and have been doing math of all kinds for years. I also worked as an actuary at a major consulting firm for several years.

I charge by the hour. My hourly rate includes brief assistance when we're not meeting. If a student is stuck on a problem or has a quick question, there’s no need to wait until we meet again, just send a quick message and I'll respond asap!

My friends in high school & college asked for assistance. It turned out I was really good at making the math easy for everyone.

I have worked with every kind of student from every kind of background. From quite young to surprisingly old.

Just this week, a previously struggling student received a 101% on a major exam. It was her first A on a test ever!

I think the best math tutors don't seem like mathematicians, just normal folks that like to help and can explain things simply.

It is helpful if a student knows their immediate and longer-range goals., but sometimes a math student can be rather "lost" and just needs some help to get started on the process.
