Hello! I'm a former Trainer at Rosetta Stone, with native fluency in Spanish and English, and high proficient fluency in Russian and intermediate proficiency in German. While at Rosetta Stone, I worked in the K-12, Higher Education, Corporate, Government, and Non-Profit divisions.

I love seeing the growth and learning that takes place in a student when they are taught new things or new ways of looking at what they are accustomed to. I keep my tutoring sessions fun and interactive, incorporating a variety of materials in order to keep my students engaged.

I am also TEFL certified and am currently working on my IELTS certification.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to get to know what my students' strengths are and what areas they need proficiency in. This way, I can tap into their strengths and allow them to use those to make their unique and individual learning process something that they can feel more confident about.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am currently a Global Civil Rights student at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Typical price is $25 per hour with consideration to reduce this price whenever multiple lessons are scheduled within the same week, on an ongoing basis.

How did you get started teaching?

I first began teaching English as a volunteer working with the C.A.R.I.T.A.S. organization in Austin, Texas, in the 1990s. I was assigned a Bosnian refugee family and worked with them for several months, teaching them basic English.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students ranging in age from 6 to 66.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I lived in Hungary in the fall of 2021 while attending school at the University of Pecs, studying European Union Law and taking other courses in the Faculty of Law, including one course taught entirely in German in which I was the only student.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Speak with several tutors or instructors, and when you're talking to one that just feels right, hire them. That feeling will make all the difference in the world in terms of your motivation and speed at which you will become conversationally proficient in your target language.
