About
The teaching and tutoring of mathematics and statistics over these many years are filled with a thousand experiences in classroom instruction. I taught everything from middle school through high school to college levels, thus maturing my sensitivity to the needs of students at several different stages. I have an advanced postgraduate degree in education and an undergraduate degree in mathematics that fortified my teaching methods and approaches. The last 14 years saw me working with hundreds of students to improve their test scores and build confidence. My experiences have allowed me to develop my skills in creating appropriate learning materials and recognize and appreciate students' unique problems in diverse learning situations.
I have worked for different institutions, courses, and tutorial programs, which provided me with insight into what approaches work best toward ensuring success among students. The strategy will be manifold towards solving problems and making the student understand the underlying logic for every type of solution. Knowing the process is much more relevant than memorizing the steps to solve a particular problem. In this way, the student retains it and can use it in the future for academics or real-world purposes.
Courses taught included Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and preparation for the ACT and SAT. All these courses enriched my experience and strengthened my commitment to the best results for my students. I always find ways to grow, improve, and revise my teaching practice. I will continue to stay updated with any new reforms in mathematics education and utilize technology-enhanced learning tools to capture students' interests, further facilitating their learning process. I do not want my students to pass exams only, instead, I want to give them the power of analytical skills and logical reasoning, which will help them be successful everywhere in this ever-changing world.
