I work in classrooms. I am a great tutor for math including algebra and geometry. I am also a private Chinese insturctor for more than 10 years. I am familiar with school materials for all topics in middle school. I also have a degree in educational psychology.
I love to help students to improve and help them their the subjects they struggle. I love to teach them study skills and avocate their independence. I also love to break down the materials to support them to move forward.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with observing and asking questions. I would like to know where they are at and what kind of challenges they are having. I also accute to their personality differences, because every child is different. I have an educational psychology background, and I work with students with special needs. I am familiar with all subjects in middle school and some high school level, but math is my speciality. I also teach Chinese Mandarin at school settings and private settings for all ages.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in psychology and a MA in educational psychology. I work for special education as a behavioral specialist, and I have been working for SMMUSD for 5 years in school settings.
