Carlos's Math Tutoring
About
The way I approach tutoring is first attempting to get to know my student. I do this so that I have a better understanding of how their mind works which allows me to cater as best I can to their line of thinking.
Math is one of those subjects where students often find themselves confused. For me, helping students develop a true understanding of the subject brings fulfillment to me. In addition, the questions students ask test my mastery of certain areas of the subject.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process for working with a new student goes as follows:
1. Before meeting, I would like students to list the topics they'd like to focus on which helps me start thinking about the topics beforehand.
2. Typically, I have students attempt problems to see where they are at in their understanding of the material.
3. Guide students through easy and difficult problems to help them start to build an understanding of the subject. I like to drill certain questions over and over to the point where students can do problems on their own with me there to answer any questions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do not have any formal training, but I have taken both AP Calculus AB and BC and obtained a score of 5 out of 5 on both exams.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do not have a standard pricing system for lessons. I am willing to do a trial run at no cost.
