Hi! My name is Allene, and I am currently a student at the University of Pennsylvania, studying within their Wharton School of Business.
Having been a tutor and connecting hundreds of tutors to students for over two years, I'm incredibly familiar with the educational field, and specifically, tutoring. I have managed to raise one of my student's reading levels by 2 levels in just a month, and I have much experience tutoring in math, english, and music subjects. I have created 4 complete music courses for a national nonprofit and currently run EYB, an organization that teaches business concepts to youth.
As a student myself, I know the struggle of trying to keep up with the pace of a traditional classroom and with your peers. Because of this, I am incredibly patient with every single one of my students and know how to adjust my teaching methods according to their learning styles and ways of thinking.
Every child has their own learning pace and skillset, and so, being able to be a part of these children's educational journeys, and being able to see them improve, is an incredible joy in my life.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will get to know the student and their preferred learning style in the first session, and I will continue to work with them on whichever topics they struggle with most and teach it in a way that will not only allow them to understand the material, but to apply it in numerous ways. If the student needs help with something different, such as with homework or test/homework corrections, I will explain problems clearly and provide similar practice ones to ensure that the student understands. I will work with the student at their own pace and allow them to tell me when they feel prepared enough to move on to a tougher level or topic of choice.

While it depends on the subject, my prices average at the following. I typically only provide online tutoring services:
Online Tutoring:
1 hour - $30
45 minutes - $25
30 minutes - $20
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students for subjects like english, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary, along with most mathematics. I also teach piano and music theory, and I am part of numerous other educational programs. My students are normally 8-15 years of age, although I am able to teach most ages.
