About
I really love working with students, and to help them feel more confident about their subjects, concepts and understanding.
I enjoy having to discuss problems with students, figure out different methods to help each student, as everyone learns differently, and cherish the fact that with my tutoring, their skills improve! I take pride in what i do.

It was my first time using an online tutoring service since my daughter had been struggling with her Math, and honestly, I couldn’t have found a better tutor than Aki from A-Z Math.
She got an A- and it’s a big leap from her C+. I must say, Aki is an expert and a professional, very kind and patient with his students and I recommend him to anyone who needs a Math tutor.

My experience with Aki has been a game-changer for my Calculus-1 course. I got an A in it and this Fall im working with him for my Calculus-2 class. Aki is a very dedicated, passionate tutor with command in Math. I love the way he communicates in the session and is extremely patient and driven.

It was so easy to find a great math tutor. Aki has been a fantastic tutor for my daughter. She was behind in her work and he helped her catch up in just a couple weeks. Shes back on track and feeling more confident thanks to him. He clearly loves what he does.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A new student is mostly a book one needs to open and explore with care, patience and diligence. Being a tutor, i understand that a student needs a friend, a pal, to help them with their difficulties, help them enhance their intellect level and make them independent enough to tackle problems.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have Masters in Computer Science and Mathematics. I have been a top-10 Math tutor for tutors.com for over 3 years now, plus have been tutoring for about 10 years, being a head tutor for SJSU University from 2016-2018.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My lessons are priced on per hour basis. I keep my rate discussions private with the students/parents. On an average my rates are $60/hour(negotiable)
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching about 12 years ago when a friend needed help in understanding a complex concept and we were on a timeline since exam was on the next day. I was able to devise a novel strategy, tailored just for my friend and explain him in a way that not only cleared his concepts but also helped him develop further interest in the topic. On introspection and feedback from many friends, i understood that i have that innate ability in Math that can help a lot of people.
I honed that skill and now after almost 10 years of tutoring experience, i am.proud to be on the elite list of top 10 California Math tutors.
What types of students have you worked with?
Students from middle school, high school, college and grad students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Two of my students, whom i have been tutoring for almost 3 years now (college students) and they recently graduated, surprised me when they made it to my wedding :) I felt so glad that my closest friends (my students) were present on my special day!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Well, foremost, when it comes to Math, do not just look for a homework coach, but look for someone who can help you understand a concept from ground zero and then enhance yoir abilities to tackle a problem by doing examples, not just from honework. Math only comes with regular practice!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Just be clear of where, since when and on what topics in general you are struggling with and have trust in your tutor.
