About this tutor

I have a passion for teaching and learning that has only grown as I've progressed in my own education. I love helping students succeed and to gain confidence in their own abilities. I have been formally tutoring since I was a student at a community college 8 years ago. Three years ago I transferred to UCSD where I got my degree in Physiology & Neuroscience. While I was there, I TA'd for a genetics course and also tutored Organic Chemistry and Biology. I have tutored various different age groups including middle school, high school, and college level students. I am available for online tutoring

I enjoy helping others learn and helping other develop their own problem solving strategies. I like seeing progress and enjoy inspiring others on their educational journey

Working with Arthur has been fantastic. Arthur's extensive knowledge on the AP Biology curriculum made studying come easy. Arthur has been able to answer all of my questions and has helped my test-taking ability. I look forward to continue being tutored by Arthur.

Arthur is really friendly and knowledgeable, which really helped me for my classes, since I needed someone who was patient. His way of explaining concepts really helped me out. I owe my grade to him!

arthur was really able to help me in a lot of areas i was struggling with. he truly knows his stuff well enough to explain things in a much more understandable way than how certain things are typically taught. he is very easy to work with and will work at a pace that is comfortable for you. with his help he’s made handling the my studies much more approachable. highly recommend to anyone who is seeking help.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The first thing I do is introduce myself and ask the student to introduce themselves. Then I let them know that I'm there to help them and that I want to create an environment where they are able to succed. I ask them about how they think they learn best and what they think they struggle with. After the introductions and tone has been set, I ask the student if they have any questions or if they can explain to me the last thing they learned. With this, I gather information about their abilities/understanding to better asses how I can best be of help to that particulat student
