Student Success Tutoring
About
Hi, I'm Bishal. Thank you for viewing my profile and considering me the best fit for your job.
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California in 2022 and am currently pursuing a master's degree in Structural Engineering at San Jose State University.
I realized that the classes I appreciated most were not necessarily the topics I was most interested in. Rather, it was the professors who made the classes entertaining. These professors were always engaging and comprehensible when teaching the materials in the classroom and always willing to go drive in-depth when I asked for additional help. I got motivated by my professor's teaching style. So, I decided to bring this knowledge to my tutoring approach and do everything I could to make the learning platform efficient. I use lesson plans in which I usually introduce the topic's background and its uses in our daily life in a fun and creative way, then explicitly teach the material. This idea makes my students get ready to learn exciting materials. Afterward, I make lesson plans as needed and help students get ready for their final exam by providing practice materials. Of course, learning style varies from student to student, and this method can be adjusted based on the subject and the student’s individual needs.
I have tutoring experience for 3+ years. I have worked as a STEM tutor at the Student Success Center of Woodland Community College and have had great success with my students. I have been awarded the best tutor award in recognition of my valuable contributions to the student success center for my hard work and dedication to making the SCC the best it can be. So far, I have tutored all ages of students, and my students felt very comfortable being tutored by me. I teach all-level math, such as algebra, geometry, and calculus.
I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses. I look forward to working with you in reaching your GPA and test score goals. Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions you may have or to schedule a lesson!
