Educational Background

I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in Cognitive Science with a specialization in Machine Learning. My academic background includes strong quantitative and analytical training, with coursework up through Vector Calculus (Calculus V). I am generally well-rounded across core subjects, with particular strength in math, problem-solving, and structured thinking.

Tutoring & Teaching Experience

While I have not worked as a formal private tutor, I have been helping peers with math and academic concepts since middle school. This includes explaining material, walking through problems step-by-step, and adapting explanations to match different learning styles. My approach focuses on clarity, patience, and helping students build confidence rather than memorization or pressure.

Youth Coaching & Instructional Approach

I currently work as a youth coach at a rock climbing gym, where I coach students ages 6–17 in both group and individual settings. I have been coaching for 5 months, with a strong emphasis on safety, skill progression, and positive reinforcement. I take personal responsibility for creating an environment that is engaging, supportive, and fun, helping students improve without feeling defeated or discouraged.

This coaching experience has strengthened my ability to communicate clearly with younger students, maintain structure, and keep learning enjoyable—skills that directly translate to effective tutoring. I aim to help students understand concepts deeply, feel capable, and develop a positive relationship with learning.
