As a tutor, I approach my time with each student differently, custom-tailoring sessions according to my client's articulated goals and learning styles. I work through homework with students and incorporate mini-lessons into the sessions to review concepts or clear up any confusion. Many students appreciate my ability to create content on the spot, whether math problems to refine a certain skill or written Spanish scenarios to prep for an upcoming test.
The method of instruction I practice is inquiry. Rather than offering hints or placing the focus on getting the right answer, I ask guiding questions to engage the student in their own thinking processes.
In my experience, a great student is dedicated, hardworking, and organized. I believe academic success takes so much more than rote memorization or a brilliant mind. A culture of encouragement and accountability motivates students to stay organized and study effectively. By equipping students with fundamental tools for success, I ensure they can reach their personal and academic goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have seven years of experience tutoring elementary, middle school, and high school students. As a tutor, I specialize in teaching my students how to write essays, conquer math, and develop strong study habits. I am a Bay Area native, fluent Spanish speaker, and gap year advocate. I am a serious and dependable tutor with a fun and caring demeanor. I look forward to meeting you!
