About
I have been tutoring for over 27 years now, a college graduate from California State University Northridge, and I have a specialty in math, from elementary through Pre-Calculus.
I also did what I preach -- I graduated top of my class in college with a 3.98 GPA.
I try to tutor my students with patience and understanding, as I think that student stress is usually the biggest problem that I encounter.
I look forward to helping.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Usually, I start with what they are working on, and from this I can observe what types of problems from the past are preventing the student from succeeding in the present. Then I do my best to work on both.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The best education and training for my work is my experience over twenty years of tutoring. From working with each student, I have learned what works and what doesn't work, both in general and for that specific student. Therefore, I can more easily narrow down how to work with each student.
From my experience, I also have learned a how common fear of math is, and how to try to help students feel like they are in a safe place where they will be encouraged and not judged.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
No.
How did you get started teaching?
In 8th grade, my school's principal also taught my class in math. When she realized how good of a student I was, she asked me to start tutoring some younger students from the school.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types of students: kindergarten students through college students, ages 4 through 40+ years.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I tutored a boy who MISSED ALL OF 9TH GRADE, during the pandemic. In one year of tutoring, he not only made up Algebra 1 with an "A," but he also took Geometry in the summer and got an "A!" (I will be helping him with Algebra 2 this year.)
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a tutor that loves tutoring, not one who's just doing it for the money.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Am I willing to put in the time and effort to improve?
