Hello, My name is Raquel and I have been tutoring for over five years! I believe that everyone has the capability to become proficient in math and want to help everyone achieve their academic goals. Subjects and Grade levels that I have tutored include:
Pre-k - 5th grade (elementary) = Simple arithmetic foundations including fractions, decimals, basic geometry.
6th grade - 8th grade (middle school) = Introductory algebra, geometry, Pre-algebra, and Algebra.
9th grade - 12th grade (high school) = Advanced Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, Calculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC.
College Level = College Algebra, Calculus 1, Calculus 2.
I love working with my clients and seeing them become inspired and confident in their abilities to learn and grow. I know that everyone is capable of learning math. Being able to share my passion for education with others makes me motivated to continue helping others in their educational journey.
I enjoy helping students become confident in their math abilities. Everybody learns differently and being able to provide students the attention they need to succeed is very rewarding.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically like to meet new students via an informal meeting (free of charge) over the phone or through zoom. I will answer any questions you may have and discuss what it is that you are looking for in tutoring. After that we will schedule your first tutoring session.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
To get the most out of your math tutoring make sure that you send over any homework, textbook pages, assignments, and questions related to what you need help on before each meeting. Though as math tutors we are prepaired to create lessons on the spot, the more prep time we have means the more detailed lesson plans we can create for you focusing on what you need!
