Prime Math Tutoring
About
I am a 21 year old college student at University of California, Irvine and my love of math began at a really young age. I always believed that being able to teach a concept meant understanding it, so as a child I used to help my friends with math. I started out by tutoring my cousins and my brother, and even volunteering to help fellow classmates with math after school in high school. When I arrived at UCI, I became a peer tutor in Calculus I and fell in love with it. I would love to help guide you to the same love for math that I have and realize how fun math can really be!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I assess the ability of the student and give them a chance to work through the problem themselves to see where they are falling short. I then explain the concept of the problem in the simplest way that I can in order to explain the logic behind the problem. I then ask them to repeat it back to me (because being able to teach shows that you understand!) and give them helpful feedback on their understanding of the concept. I also believe that this process should be fun! Snacks and music are absolutely allowed to create a more comfortable and stress-free environment.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with young children, children with disabilities, all the way up to college students. I believe anyone can learn math if they really put their mind to it.
